Union home minister Amit Shah criticized late former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru for two mistakes that caused suffering in Jammu & Kashmir: declaring a ceasefire when the Indian Army was winning and taking the internal issue to the United Nations. Shah blamed the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits on past governments in the region. He highlighted that the J&K Reservation Amendment Bill and J&K Reorganisation Amendment Bill, which were passed by the Lok Sabha, aim to provide justice to those deprived of their rights for the last 70 years.
