Following a virtual conference of the leaders of the INDIA bloc on Saturday afternoon, the decision was made public. Furthermore, sources claim that JD(U) leader and Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar turned down the position of INDIA bloc convenor. The chief minister of Bihar proposed that the position be filled by a member of the Congress party. A coalition of opposition parties, including the Congress, is known as INDIA, or the "Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance."
