Election Commissioner Arun Goel has resigned just weeks before the Lok Sabha elections are expected to be held. President Droupadi Murmu has accepted his resignation. The Election Commission of India is now only manned by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar. Goel had assumed charge as election commissioner on November 21, 2022.
